The Fashion Awards 2016: the winners Celebrating international creativity influencers
The Fashion Awards 2016 were held last night (Monday 5th December) at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, on the occasion of a fundraiser gala under the aegis of the British Fashion Council and Swarovski. Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the ceremony saw the best of the British and international fashion industry joined by a glamorous line-up of guests, including Anna Wintour, Gigi Hadid, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Jared Leto, Naomi Campbell, David Beckham...
Selected by 1,500 fashion industry figures from 41 different countries, the nominees this edition reflected a broader international scope than ever before, with new categories like International Model and International Accessories Designer added to the long-running ones like British Womenswear Designer and British Menswear Designer.
The winners were announced yesterday in front of 4,000 guests. Among the prestigious and well-deserved prizes:
International Accessories Designer to Alessandro Michele for Gucci
"Recognising an internationally acclaimed, leading accessories designer that has directed the shape of fashion globally in the past year."
British Menswear Designer to Craig Green for Craig Green
"A British ready-to-wear designer who has been instrumental in leading men’s fashion in the past year."
British Womenswear Designer to Simone Rocha
"A British ready-to-wear designer who has been instrumental in leading women’s fashion in the past year."
International Ready-To-Wear Designer to Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga
"Recognising an internationally acclaimed, leading ready-to-wear womenswear or menswear designer that has directed the shape of fashion globally in the past year."
