At the beginning of the decade the Sala Bianca was a myth in the world of fashion, and an invitation to show on its runways was a most prestigious goal: Galitzine, Ken Scott, Lancetti, Valentino, Krizia and Mila Schön were among the houses. The first group show of men's fashions was held in 1963. The first conflicts between the new names in more informal creativity and the original High Fashion group pushed the latter towards Rome and Paris, the first signs not only of a regrouping of forces between the industry's capitals, but also of the decline of a certain concept of fashion under the iconoclastic influence of the late 'Sixties.
Once again, however, Mr. Giorgini had the right ideas about future consumer trends, but his own adventure had come to an end: he left the organization in 1965. Then, in 1967 Franco Tancredi was elected president of the CFMI and that same year an agreement was signed with the Camera Nazionale della Moda: the High Fashion shows would move to Rome to the individual ateliers, while the Boutique and Knitwear collections would remain - and flourish - in Florence.
