by James Crump in the programme of Festival Lo Schermo dell'Arte
The film - a portrait of one of 70s fashion’s most fearless talents - is the Closing Night film of the festival: Sunday 19th November at 9.15pm at the Cinema La Compagnia of Florence.
An extraordinary soundtrack with music by Donna Summer, Marvin Gaye and Isaac Hayes accompanies the story of Antonio Lopez, the most influential fashion illustrator from the seventies, whose drawings were inspired by the ethnicity and life in the streets of New York and Paris. The film traces the wild life and stormy relationships of the group of friends and collaborators who surrounded him, including Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, his creative partner Juan Ramos and his muses, the beautiful Cathee Dahmen, Grace Jones, Pat Cleveland, Tina Chow, Jessica Lange and Jerry Hall.
