Lineapiù Italia, in cooperation with Maglificio Miles, is writing yet another chapter in the history of innovation by bringing yarns into the third dimension through NeTTA – an acronym for New Technology for textile application.
By applying 3D printer technology to fashions, Lineapiù Italia allows stylists and knitting mills to go beyond technical, conceptual and managements which up to now had been unsurpassable: revolutionizing the ways of designing knitwear.
NeTTA is the result of more than two years of research and major investments that led Lineapiù Italia and Maglificio Miles to work with a group of internationally renowned experts and researchers.
For knitting mills, this innovation can potentially revolutionize the entire production system since it makes it possible to combine 3D-printed knits with other knitwear made according to traditional methods.
Designers will have an extreme customization technique at their disposal: each garment can be conceived and made as a one-of-a-kind item. NeTTA is opening a window onto a future where clothes can be made-to-measure using body scanning technologies: reading measurements and fashioning the garment directly on a three-dimensional model of the person.
