Vintage Selection n19: closing figures

The 19th edition of Vintage Selection, the prestigious fair dedicated to remakes and quality vintage fashion, shelf-items and culture held at the Stazione Leopolda (Florence, 25-29 January 2012), ended last Sunday with rising attendance figures and very positive comments regarding both the fair format as well as the events and special projects featured which focused on the concept of Very Vintage – a 360° view of vintage culture.  Over the five days on which the event was open to the public there were more than 13,500 visitors, an increase of 4% with respect to the 13,000 visitors in January 2011.  The quality level was very high amongst the members of the trade who came to Florence for Pitti Filati but also visited Vintage Selection.

This nineteenth edition confirmed Vintage Selection’s huge growth in terms of quality and content,” says Agostino Poletto, sole director of Stazione Leopolda, “and established the event’s role as a research lab for the most important international fashion style bureaus.  This was demonstrated by the higher number of purchases made by the buyers, despite budget restrictions, with a particular focus on the knitwear proposals, a rapidly developing sector.  It was also confirmed by the growing number of buyers from foreign markets led by Sweden, Germany, the United States and Japan.  The 60 vintage fashion exhibitors who brought their collections to the Stazione Leopolda worked very well and welcomed a more adult and international public than at previous editions.  The visitors and press expressed their great appreciation for the events and special projects featured at this edition which made Vintage Selection not just a fair but a 360° platform for the culture of vintage fashion”.
