In the wake of the positive results recorded by Pitti Filati, VINTAGE SELECTION – one of the most authoritative international market-fairs for vintage fashion – also came to a positive conclusion heralded by a +13% growth in visitors compared to the previous edition. In fact the fair, which is held inside the Medici Pavilion of the Fortezza da Basso at the same time as Pitti Filati (from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 June), saw growth in the attendance of members of the trade that reached 3,400 compared to the 3,000 visitors last year.
15 exhibitors, all Italian, participated in this unmissable event for international sector enthusiasts, unanimously expressing positivefeedback for the quality of the designer garments; especially the selection of vintage knitwear. At the back of the pavilion the international visitors were able to admire the very colorful experimental looks in the Vintage Optical Views: Widen your Senses exhibition, the protagonists of which were the legendary graphic patterns of clothing and accessories from the ’60s to the ’80s.
“The complementary nature of the research and communication synergies between Pitti Filati and Vintage Selection has made its mark: the exhibitors told us they met a very qualified and international public that made targeted purchases for their professional research and personal passion. There was a big focus on knitwear, on military inspired garments and workwear, as well as on accessories and footwear. The buyers themselves, for their part, told us that they found the proximity to Pitti Filati to be very functional. We are already preparing the January edition of Vintage Selection for which we have received many participation requests” says Agostino Poletto, sole director of Stazione Leopolda.
