Visvim will be Pitti Immagine Uomo 90 Designer Project (Florence, 14-17 June 2016)
In Florence, on Thursday 16th June, Mr. Nakamura will present – for the first time ever – a total experience by Visvim: it will be a performance-showing of the men’s collection that includes clothes and looks for women. 
Visvim will be also at Pitti Uomo trade show with a special installation at the Futuro Maschile pavilion, at the Sala della Ronda.
 
The men’s collections by Hiroki Nakamura, founder and designer of the Japanese label Visvim - which is a declination of the Latin word vis, a combination of strength and speed that is paradoxically associated with a personal propensity for slowness) - are the result of a very eclectic approach where American-inspired work wear is refreshed by high-tech design. The materials are all top quality and craft-produced: the textiles are the fruit of his experiments conducted in cooperation with manufacturers that enjoy his total confidence. Garments acquire a new life in an offering that combines ready-to-wear clothing with cult footwear in a perfect symbiosis of heritage content and function. 
 
We are very excited and honored to be invited to Pitti Uomo this summer as the Designer Project - says Hiroki Nakamura of Visvim - “I want to share with our guests a complete experience of Visvim.  We have typically only hosted exhibition style presentations and have never done it any other way, however this occasion has allowed us to explore a different way to communicate who we are and what we are doing. It will incorporate elements of a show, but more importantly with how and what we present I want our guests to feel what Visvim is.

Hiroki Nakamura Bio - Visvim founder and creative Director

Born in 1971 in Japan, Nakamura independently established CUBISM inc. in 2001 following a career in the active sporting goods industry. As Creative Director, he launched the footwear brand Visvim, which over the years has evolved into a full lifestyle collection of apparel, accessories, and fragrances.  Nakamura travels the world in search of artisan techniques, traditional craft, and manufacturing methods from the past to inspire the development of his Visvim collections.

Since its foundation in 2000 by designer Hiroki Nakamura, visvim has been an ongoing exercise in the pursuit of joy and timeless beauty through the discovery and creation of footwear and clothing products. This pursuit has manifested itself in different forms - Gore-Tex outerwear, natural indigo-dyed kimonos, Native American-inspired sneakers - but the driving force behind each product has stayed the same. Along this journey it has often been necessary to look back in order to progress forward, which just might be the truest way to articulate the Visvim concept.
Visvim is a journey to find happiness through creation, and the products and collections that are born each season are our most honest attempts at reaching towards that goal.
