Damien Paul, head of menswear, matchesfashion.com:
Pitti Uomo is a global fair where not just the best Italian brands are presented but where the attention and research are directed towards the whole world, like at every great show: just look at Guest Nation Australia and the Tokyo Fashion Awards. Moreover, the Pitti team handles relations with us buyers so very well, we are truly well supported during our stay in Florence.
Alix Rutsey, menswear buyer, Ssense, Montreal:
This is the first time that I have attended Pitti Uomo. My impressions? An extraordinary fair with a perfect mix of big names in menswear and new experimental collections: a regular brand experience. Pitti Uomo narrates the menswear world through two different stories, the event at the Fortezza Da Basso and the shows in stunning locations like those chosen by the Special Guest Designers JW Anderson and Off-White.
Simon Hogeman, proprietor, Très Bien, Malmö:
I hadn’t taken part in Pitti Uomo for a few editions and I found a fair that is even more structured and professional, an important opportunity to get a 360° view of what is happening in the men’s fashion world. It is possible to get the best panoramic view at Pitti, much better than in Milan or Paris.
Rodolphe Nantas, menswear buyer, The Webster, Miami:
Excellent vibrations, the people are super stimulated and open to opportunities for debate and exchange. I really like the Touch!, Born in the Usa sections and the luxury sportswear of I Play. JW Anderson’s show was absolutely incredible.
Claudio Antonioli, proprietor, boutique Antonioli Milan, Turin, Lugano and Ibiza:
Research is the first important thing in fashion and Pitti Uomo is a fair that has never rested on its consolidated success but has always looked ahead, showing a great farsightedness and a very strong connection to innovation. Just think of this edition’s Special Guests, innovative and topical names.
