Textilwirtschaft honours Pitti Uomo with the “Forum Preis der Textil Wirtschaft 2017 Award”
Wednesday 10th May, in Heidelberg, Germany, Pitti Immagine Uomo received the honorary award “Forum Preis der Textilwirtschaft 2017Award”, conferred by the leading German publication in the textile/fashion industry, Textilwirtschaft.
The award was given to Pitti Uomo in recognition of the unique platform it has created, and its sustained influence and innovation within the menswear sector, introducing communication and creative content.
“Pitti Uomo and its companies have managed to create something unique: an event and a cultural phenomenon, the most important platform for menswear globally, so much more than a trade fair. It is an unequalled example of quality, artisan craftsmanship and style, it is a business multiplier and a reference point for the best international brands. All of this is concentrated in four days, during the two fixed appointments in January and June at the Fortezza da Basso in the centre of Florence. The trade fair which, over time, has become a brand is unique within the industry in terms of its global importance. Florence has the same importance for men’s fashion as Davos does for economics and Basel for art. In recognition of this the TextilWirtschaft Forum Award jury has selected Pitti Uomo for the award”, a statement given by Michael Werner, director of Textilwirtschaft.
“We are truly honoured to have received this award” – says Claudio Marenzi, President of Pitti Immagine – “the Textilwirtschaft Awards is a highly prestigious event that brings together some of the most important names in the industry, retail and international fashion. This recognition, conferred by one of the top publications for operators in the fashion business, underlines the dedication by Pitti Immagine in guiding the evolution of Pitti Uomo with its incessant vocation for creativity and research and in its double of role of promotional platform for business and observatory of style and trends”.
