Secret Florence. The fourth edition is kicked off with a program rich in events

The event of artistic contemporary expression with support from the City of Florence and Pitti Immagine, Secret Florence returns in its fourth edition as a special project chosen by Estate Fiorentina 2019. A space open to the city, a program of events, site-specific performances, and concerts in unusual places throughout the city, will be held from 10 to 15 June. Among the events already confirmed, Fabbrica Europa proposes two new productions: Perpetuo by Erna Omarsdóttir and Gianni Maroccolo, a creation characterized by a multidisciplinary approach, in an original combination between dance and music, and A peaceful place by Davide Valrosso with young dancers from the Bangalore Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, as part of a project aimed at creating opportunities for interaction and collaboration between Italy and countries in the Middle East and Asia. Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival presents Diamantino – The World’s Premiere Soccer Player by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt, a premiere showing of the 2018 Cannes’ Critics Week Winner: an ironic and surreal comedy based on the present-day issues of immigration and nationalist propaganda. Musicus Concentus proposes the Dialogues concert, the brand new project of three leading musicians: Stefano Maurizi, Luciano Biondini and Mirco Mariottini. For Secret Florence 2019, Virgilio Sieni conceived a new project in the cycle of Florentine Last Suppers, including in particular the Last Supper of Andrea del Sarto, Sant’Apollonia. Tempo Reale proposes two different actions for the promotion of music and sound: Paesaggio Notte at the Florence Planetarium, a set of experimental music in an unconventional setting normally dedicated to the scientific exploration of starry skies, while the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista becomes the stage for presenting the work by leading French artist Yves Klein, Symphony Monotone - Silence, a clearly conceptualized concert, characterized by a unique and continuous sound held for a long period of time, followed by an equivalent time of silence and complete immobility.
