Chic & Unchic

Men like peacocks, at the Florence-based event dedicated to menswear. Just a vain as women, if not more so, always ready to be “surprised” by the lenses of the streetstyle hunters. Here is all the best. And a little of the worst Not only at the trade show booths or on the catwalks of the many special events that enrich the calendar of the 90th edition of Pitti Uomo, the Florence-based event dedicated to menswear which, from 14 to 17 June, sees the unveiling of the men’s fashion ranges for spring/summer 2017. The real show takes place in the courtyards of the Fortezza da Basso and in the streets of the Tuscan capital, where buyers, editors, designers, industry insiders and inquisitive visitors parade around, most of the time strutting their stuff, in lens-catching outfits with looks that are gutsy to say the least. The concept of “I just threw on the first thing I could find” just doesn’t work at Pitti. He who dares the most, wins. Or at least tries to. Here is all the best (but also the worst) of the streetstyle intercepted at Pitti. Chic or unchic? The distinction is so blurred, the line so grey. It really takes very little to turn something wonderful into a disaster... And vice versa?
