Pitti Uomo 87 Fashion Diary

It’s always a pleasure to come to Florence for the Pitti Uomo, the fist man trade show of the season for next winter (fall winter 15/16). As usual, I arrived the day before the opening, with a Vueling flight direct from Paris Orly.
A quick stop at the hotel and a slice of pizza at the Yellow Bar (one of the best pizza in Firenze near Duomo. Very cheap, good and well known down here!
A nice walk in the city to look at the shop’s windows, like the new G-star shop, via Degli Strozzi. They’re not in sales anymore but you can discover the new spring summer 15 collection… and the new campaign by Ellen Von Unwerth. Not far, near plaza de la republica, the New MINI is announcing that the famous fashion english car is a partner of the PITTI with a very famous based line: pret à porte….but let’s go to bed….tomorow is the opening…. 

There are so many people at the entrance!! Nice looks. For sure it should be a good édition. The registration change but the organisation is still perfect. Just after the check point, I discover that Rossignol is exhibiting for the first time at Pitti. The french label, which is doing since many years a collaboration with Jean Charles de Castelbajac, is there, outside, with a funny tent. Just after a coffee at the press lounge, I take the direction of the sport area, PLAY, where i discover the Norvegian label, Fjallraven Kanken, and also the apparel collection of the cap brand: New ERA... the sun is shinning in Firenze!

Let’s go to have a look at the pitti exhibition «Walkabout» the season's theme. Beautiful weather, but it’s snowing on a both : Fusalp. The mountain french label, just bought by the Lacoste family, built an igloo in the middle of the fair to show exclusivity the new orientation of the ski brand and also some products from Montant, the second line. After a cigarette and a talk with some nice people, let’s go to visit some new designers like the first collection of GEYM, an urban line with technical fabric and also in the altro uomo area, Cuisses de Grenouilles mixing surf and cities trends….beautiful!!

For the end,"the latest fashion buzz" with some cool very young designers. My favorite is AntPitagora, a mix of mesh and print images. It’s already 6 o’clock, time to go for a spritz!!
 

My second day at Pitti is urban style. I decide to spend my day around the urban market, bigger and bigger every season at Pitti, around Urban Panorama. Just before going in, you’re sure that some bloggers are in front of the entrance looking after the most incredible people in terms of looks. Today, it’s the paparazzo from Fahion diary that I see before going in…


I’m going directly to the Nudie Jeans booth
, I love them because in the jeanswear, they’re totally transparent in production. All the suppliers are listed on the Nudie web site and they’re careful in the environment. Not bad for a very nice and basics collection! Take a look of the Lumberjack shirt and the incredible signature on the back pockets of the jeans. Nudie jeans is simple, clean and confortable. You simply look good in their jeans. They also have an amazing leather shirt without any pockets.


Lets go to Eleven now. The brand is going taking a new turn, more urban, more chic, far from the moustache t-shirts, but still with lots of humour. Have a look at the sweat shirt with the Pharrel William spirit… not fun? This is Eleven!

But the Pitti is full of new brands or new lines, Rossignol is there too with a big tent, they’re showing their new heritage line. The shoes looks good and smell the montain.

Pitti is sunny this season so let’s do some streets style near the Urban Panorama.


Back to the pavillon centrale, Save the Duck is there. They don’t use any animal composants, they have a rainy down jacket. Simple.


Let’s go to visit some good french labels… .Joe San and an amazing collection. Joe San is full of nice details and elegant. Urban cool….and good news, Joe San is opening a shop in Paris end of January.


In front, Serge Blanco is elegant and preppy for a man who loves Rudby and looking good in a simple way with nice colors… don’t forget that 2015 is the year of the sundial od rugby…


Another sport at the Vicomte A booth, the hunting collection… new Artistic designer means that the brand is taking a new turn and some very nice collaborations


A nice day on the fair…but it’s time to go to the HBA show, special guet this season!! 

The "Hood By Air" show and the party were amazing so naturally, it was difficult to get up early today… Anyway we’re all here at Pitti to discover this 87th edition for the presentation of the fall Winter 15/16 collections and all the most important buyers are there. I just arrived at the same time as the Isetan team, one of the most important department store from Japan. 


A coffee at the press office and let’s go to TOUCH to visit some small strong labels. Pret pour Partir, one of the first french brand dedicated to travelers is introducing  a wonderful duffle coat line. The Royal Blue is already my favorite. Not so far, the japonese team YUKETEN presents their beautiful artisanal mocassin made handmade in USA. Pentfield made a Camouflage line of different bombers and sweaters and Del Toro a very innovative sneakers line.
 
After so many beautiful discoveries, let’s have a break at the Mon Meilleur Ami booth: simple bags and scarfs in an amazing fabric. They’re: "Je suis Charlie" and have a copy of the last «Charlie Hebdo» on their booth. Congratulations guys. In front of them: King of Denim. Nice and proud to have a collaboration with the Collette Boutique in Paris. We’re with some good denim labels, so let’s go to see the next collection of Good Genes, the dutch brand is there to introduce his classic and basic line with lots of details. 
 
It’s sunny outside. Florence is really cool this season. Let’s do some street styles outside, before going to Marny Man show at the Maritimo museum!
