The presentation world tour starts in New York
The Big Apple previews new entries at the winter shows for the press and retailers
November is a busy month for Pitti Immagine, with CEO Raffaello Napoleone travelling around the world meeting the press to present the winter shows and events.
The tour started in New York on Thursday 7 November, where Raffaello Napoleone, together with Pitti Uomo 85 Guest Designer Andreas Melbostad, the creative director of Diesel Black Gold, welcomed top fashion editors and retailers, with a lunch to announce all the most interesting new entries for the upcoming shows in January.
In the unique setting of the Bocca di Bacco restaurant in Chelsea, a true Italian outpost in New York, our CEO revealed some of the details for Pitti Uomo and W, from the Rock Me Pitti theme to participation by Barbara Casasola as Guest Designer at Pitti W 13.
“With New York we inaugurated our world tour of press meetings”, says Raffaello Napoleone. “It has always been a pleasure to start our path in the Big Apple, where creativity and new trends, involving street style and experimentation, can be felt to vibrate. We started with a breakfast with the press and operators from children's fashion. This was followed by a lunch, inviting journalists who, in addition to being real top writers on the world fashion scene, are also friends of Pitti Immagine".
Guests taking part in the presentation in New York included: Stefano Tonchi from W Magazine, Nick Sullivan from Esquire, Ted Stafford from GQ, Eric Jennings from Saks Fifth Avenue, Bruce Pask of the New York Times, Nickelson Wooster from Atrium, plus the editors of V Magazine, Glamour, Lucky and Man of the World, who enjoyed the Italian theme menu with grilled aubergines, braised chicken and gnocchi, finishing with delicious desserts that included a melted chocolate cake and panna cotta.
And now Raffaello Napoleone, the Pitti Immagine team and international PR agents are ready to continue the tour with stages in London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Hamburg and Moscow.
On 11 November there was also a conference in Milan, with participation by about 200 journalists who showed great interest in the programmes presented and the special events.
There is only one big date in everyone's diary however: Florence in January… with plenty of new entries on the programme!
