Wines, foods, delicacies, tasting sessions, debates and provocations, music and art. All this and more comprised “Taste. In viaggio con le diversità del gusto” [Traveling with Diversities in Tastes] (18-20 March 2006), the event dedicated to the best names in Italian wine-and-food-culture, that concluded yesterday at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence. Approximately 6,500 took this original gastronautic tour.
Mortadella with champagne, oysters and Lambrusco, speck and spumante, and then chocolate with balsamic vinegar if it isn’t served in….. jujube syrup. Science fiction for the gourmet? Not at all, just some of the ideas at Viaggio nelle Diversità [A Trip Through Diversities] the event within the event at Taste.
Taste is an event devoted to the discovery of the cultural and biological diversities of foods. It is a fair, a wide-open tasting session, an excursion seeking old and new gastronomic lodes and wellness, a venue for pure cultural-gastronomic debate and an observation on contemporary taste evolution in our globalized society.
