PB82_Apartment_020
The 82nd edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo (Florence, 21-23 January 2016), the key international childrenswear fair, ended at the Fortezza da Basso launching a message of confidence and energy for Italian and international junior fashion.

Nagaoka Ryosuke, General Manager Childrenswear, Baby Items and Toys Isetan, Tokyo:
'Personally, this is the first time I have taken part in Pitti Bimbo. What struck me straight away was the great care and originality that has gone into the design of the various stands – you immediately get a sense of the company’s identity and the message it wants to communicate to its customers. This season’s trend? Happiness! You can see it in the materials, the colours and the accessories chosen – what the companies want to express is a positive message.  After all, especially in Italy, clothes do not just mean the fashion industry, but a broader concept of upbringing and culture. It’s in your DNA, and you can sense it all around here at the show. Presentations are very fresh, and the runway shows have been original and fun’.

Wasim Al Sadat, Concession Manager and Senior Buyer Harvey Nichols Riyadh:
'The show is perfect and there is nothing to compare anywhere in the world. The brands housed in the Padiglione Centrale are those we usually work with, and being able to see the new collections all at the same time is a great opportunity. What we look for for our department stores are top quality luxury brands with a great international reputation, and as always, Pitti Bimbo represents the best. I’ve noted more and more attention for the collections for girls, and a lot of refinement in the accessories. I like the idea of the Pop Up Stores, always very original.'

Jennifer Grelier, buyer Yoya, New York:
‘This has been my first time at Pitti Bimbo and … I love this show! Here the atmosphere is not only business, but it offers a lot of original, fun events too. The Apartment runway show was one of the best I’ve attended in my career, really exciting.  The show is big, but very easy to navigate, and houses numerous interesting high quality brands, as well as the biggest names in international fashion. We have two multibrand stores in New York’s West Village, an upmarket area known for design and art. The same things I look for in our collections – high quality but with an eye for creativity and originality. I haven’t been disappointed!’

Nick Rayne, owner Step2wo boutique, London:
‘Do you want to know how many editions of Pitti Bimbo I’ve taken part it? This is number 57. I can say I consider it to be the most important international shows for high end childrenswear.  What makes it so special is its international target – here you find the world’s best luxury childrenswear brands as well as interesting up and coming names. We have seven multibrand boutiques in London and the British Isles, and our customers are always looking for is something special - original designs with a strong emphasis on quality and great fit. At Pitti Bimbo we always find collections that meet these prerogatives. The Kids Evolution space is very innovative. What else can I say? If you are a kids’ fashion buyer, this is a not to be missed event’.

Cinzia Baldelli, ‎Head of Home, Media & Travel, Beauty and Kids,  La Rinascente Spa, Milano:

A very interesting show from all points of view! All the brands I met confirmed the comeback of foreign customers looking for the latest developments.  Kids Fizz is definitely the most important section for those who are looking for the latest trends, as well as the Apartment section, which features very sophisticated offerings. The coming fall/winter trends? Sportswear-oriented collections for boys, neat-looking and practical, a lot of  colorful sweatshirts and T-shirts with fun prints. For girls, most of the collections offer garments following womenswear trends: sweatshirts, eco-furs, parkas, jewel-sneakers, stretch pants. What caught my attention the most were the garments with an attractive entry price, which nearly all the brands featured, and the focus on social issues. Pitti Bimbo is much more comprehensive than the other shows that are growing and developing on the international scene. Pitti Bimbo offers the perfect harmony between well-known, popular names and small niche brands.
