Vintage Selection No. 21

Missione Futuro

Stazione Leopolda

From the 23rd to the 27th of January 2013,  the Stazione Leopolda in Florence will host Vintage Selection no. 21, an event that is no longer a fair showcasing vintage fashion and design objects and remakes (one of the most important of its kind in Italy and Europe), but rather a festival of vintage culture. Every six months Vintage Selection presents a new program of exhibitions, events and communications projects within the fair and throughout the city. This edition’s theme will be Missione Futuro – Mission: The Future: that is, science fiction and retro-futurism, the image of the future we thought would develop starting from the 1950s-60s. It is a theme that fascinated many of the world’s major stylists and designers. And then, there will be Future Trend, the title and theme of the I.LOVE.ARCHIVE3 exhibition: through images from the Pitti Immagine archives it will present the futuristic side of past fashions. And there is more: workshops led by leading figures from Italy’s most important fashion and design schools, an event focused on the world of theater and an exhibition of vintage – what else? – two- and four-wheeled vehicles. And of course, there will be opportunities for shopping, lots of surprises and entertainment and competitions such as the Miss & Mister Vintage contest, projects such as Tag-Automatica, concerts and happy hours with dj sets.
