Upgrading: innovative textiles for a better life
Exhibition at the IED in Florence
The IED in Florence will be hosting a cocktail party at 6.30 pm on 22 January to inaugurate the exhibition “Upgrading: innovative textiles for a better life”, which will run until 24 January.
Created by students on the Fashion Events PR Master’s course, it presents work from the programme of research into Fashion Textile and Interaction: cutting-edge projects that cover the world of fashion and new technologies. It will also reveal the innovative prototypes and interactive textiles resulting from collaboration between the IED and a selection of companies in the fashion and textile sector who have provided their support to these talented students, under the supervision of professional figures, with coordination by Aldo Colonetti, Moreno Ferrari and Carlo Rivetti.
The aim of the research programme is to produce prototypes that can actually be used on the current fashion market, in order to improve quality of life and considering companies’ sustainability related policies and technological levels.
