Countdown to Pitti Filati 75
Pitti Immagine is playing ahead of the trend game!
Pitti Immagine Filati, the key international event featuring yarns for the knitting industry will be held at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence from 2 to 4 July 2014. It is a research lab and an observatory that looks onto lifestyle trends. Pitti Filati presents world-scale excellence in yarns to its audience of international buyers and designers from the biggest names in fashion who come to Florence looking for creative inspiration. This, the 75th edition, will present world previews of yarn collections for the 2015/2016 fall-winter season.
And everything will take place in a unique atmosphere which also offers visitors an entertaining and highly original view of the many ways that fashion, art, sport, and design come together.
Evolution and change are the intrinsic features of the Spazio Ricerca, the fulcrum of all creative expression at the fair. The Spazio Ricerca is the experimental observatory where trends are analyzed and launched, and, at Pitti Filati 75, with MADE IN as the title-theme, it will explore the added value of the quality certification of a product made according to traditional methods with the highest possible craft-content while using the finest methods and most advanced technologies. MADE IN is a journey through the cultural traceability that promotes national, regional and local specificities. It is a branding – of places, techniques and raw materials exclusive to those regions, cities, neighborhoods, and streets: products, foods, music, experiences that call up an inimitable lifestyle. Ten mood-themes will be the basis for creating a personal “made in”. Presented under the artistic direction of fashion designer Angelo Figus and knitwear expert Nicola Miller; setting by Alessandro Moradei.
