Martin Diment, Design Director John Varvatos, New York:
I have been taking part in Pitti Filati for a long time and I watched the show grow over the years! It is a not-to-be-missed event. Knitwear manufacturers are increasingly focused on their collections and latest developments. Specialization is a winning strategy and it is very helpful for fashion designers who, thanks to the many collaborations between companies established here at the show, are able to personalize the yarns by choosing materials and colors. Working with professionals who have deep knowledge and experience in the field is a very important aspect of our job. Today, it is crucial to be leading companies, bring innovation and not follow what others do. The companies’ presentations are quite original and being able to see the yarns put together in the finished product is a great added value. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail. The Pitti Immagine staff takes care of us from our arrival to departure, making the tour of the show much more enjoyable and easier.
Maria Cristina Petrone, Men’s Prêt-à-Porter and Haute Couture Christian Dior Designer, Paris:
A very lively show, just like all the other shows I have had the pleasure of attending!  Pitti Filati is attended by the experts in the field, which is a very positive aspect, as it offers us the chance to exchange ideas and opinions. Why is it important to be here? As style department, being able to see all the latest yarn trends in the same place and at the same time is a great opportunity. And the knitwear factories’ presentations are always so original and innovative. Not to mention the Research Space, which was truly amazing this time. A not-to-be-missed event for knitwear designers.
Nathanael Raphael Flechaire, Creative Manager Boss Menswear Hugo Boss:
Pitti Filati is the world’s most important show in the knitwear field. Unfortunately,  what with the presentation of the winter collection and the preparation of the summer one, we do not have much time to travel, find inspiration…So, Pitti Filati allows us to learn all about the mood of the coming summer season, with all its colors and developments, all at the same time. It is amazing what the Research Space designers are able to do! The Knitclub has grown bigger, I really like the section devoted to specialist magazines, not to mention the knitwear factories’ presentations, which are always carefully detailed. The coming S/S trends? Twisted yarns and blends of different materials, such as cotton, wool and silk, which give truly innovative results.
Alice Burattelli, Junior Designer Kids Style Department, Gucci:
A lovely show! Pitti Filati is an excellent chance to meet with our suppliers and clear our doubts and hesitations about the collection. It is also a great opportunity to learn about the coming Spring/Summer trends. I met colleagues and professionals coming from all over the world and the show’s international reach is an extraordinary added value. Excellently organized show.
Ally Spencer, designer Spencer Vladimir, New York:

Pitti Filati? A terrific show, in a wonderful city like Florence.  I love going for a walk downtown, discovering the small craft shops and taking in the beautiful atmosphere! I work as designer for the Brooks Brothers brand, but I have also launched my own collection, Spencer Vladimir, entirely handmade in New York. High-quality yarns and the latest developments in the knitwear world are very important to me and I always find special offerings at the show. I really enjoyed the Research Space and Knitclub, as well as this show’s theme, Pitti Generation(s). And then the energy, the atmosphere…. everything is so special here!
