INTERVISTE BUYER PITTI FILATI 84

Ena Topalovic, Senior Technical Designer. The Row, New York:
Pitti Filati is a unique occasion for seeing all the best companies in the knitwear sector in a minimum period of two days!  The fair is very concentrated.  I was looking for new ideas for the spring/summer season to propose alongside our classic yarns and my expectations have been more than satisfied.  Perfect organization, the fair itinerary is always very legible.

Juan Francisco Canton, men’s knitwear stylist, Hermès:
I have been taking part in Pitti Filati for six years and I never miss an edition, it is my reference fair.  Italian yarn manufacturers are among the most important in the world and are synonymous with quality and long term guarantees.  I really liked the Knitclub and Fashion at Work sections: it is important that the knitting mills can display their work and fully promote Italian savoir faire. The Techno-Luxury proposal was really great: the combination of noble and technical yarns was truly innovative.  The communication of the fair is always very clear and the organization was extremely efficient.

Barbara Bucino, Yarn Research, Miu Miu, Milan:
A very positive edition!  I saw good attendance and interesting new features like the Techno-Luxury section dedicated to the combination of noble and technical materials.  Our knitwear collection is very extensive and ranges from cashmere to Lycra: we weren’t looking for anything in particular but I was interested in the new ideas proposed. Pitti Filati is confirmed as the sector’s number one fair: all the most important yarn manufacturers we work with – mainly Italian - are here.  The organization is perfect and the Pitti Club space reserved for buyers is an added value.

Alfred Zhao, R&D and Sourcing Center of Fabrics & Accessories Director K-Boxing, Shanghai:
This is my first time at Pitti Filati. Perfect organization, the route is easy to visit and allows you to quickly grasp the main trends of the next season. I really appreciated the fact that the knitters at the fair, in addition to illustrating their collections, all of the highest quality, wanted to explain how to keep the yarns and show the various declinations on the finished product. I found several companies that make handmade yarns really incredible! Undoubtedly Italian knitters have always distinguished themselves for quality and innovation.

Maria Elena Esguerra, Assistant Manager Youngone Namdinh, Vietnam:

Pitti Filati is more important and more innovative than all other trade fairs. For designers who participate with a project or vision in mind, here it is easy to find the inspirations and support needed to make them a reality. I really enjoyed the Spazio Ricerca: our company works a lot with sportswear, the theme was perfectly in line with our needs. I often work with young people and I really appreciated the fashion show of the students of the Master in CKD of Accademia Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna, really a great opportunity. The organization of the fair is perfect, it was a great experience!
