Taste Ring: Designations of origin (PDO, PGI, TSG)
On Saturday 10th March at 5pm, spotlights on the Taste Ring: Do protected designations of origin (PDO, PGI, TSG) give food products an advantage or do foreign markets not perceive them as a symbol of quality?
What is the perceived value outside of Italy of Italian food products with appellations/protected designations of origin (PDO, PGI, DOC…)? Do these products get more attention? Compared to other products, do they inspire confidence when it comes to issues of quality and safety? Also, are these appellations known outside of the European Union? Answers to these and other questions will be provided by a select group of buyers from different countries.
