Attendance totaled 15,800 over the three days of the fair
Taste is confirmed as a truly unmissable event for all professionals of taste and international food culture.
TASTE no. 12 has just come to an end at the Stazione Leopolda with the best possible results: three intense days of work for the participating companies, a big public of sector professionals and enthusiastic foodies who traveled to Florence for the occasion, all surrounded by a lively atmosphere full of surprises thanks to the many new features and opportunities to discover new products.
Taste once again recorded a rise in the number of exhibitors which totaled 380 at this edition (+12% compared to the previous edition), a selection of the best Italian producers of quality food and entities involved in research into food and wine excellence. The number of members of the trade also rose and they were increasingly international and interested in niche Italian products.
“The comments we received at this edition were unanimous”, says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, “many said it was one of the best ever editions of Taste in terms of the quality and the selection of the participating companies as well as the members of the trade attending, all very high profile and eager to discover new ideas and establish business contacts. Then the theme for this edition – Hipster Coffee, the world of coffee, its culture and lifestyles – was very popular, as was the participation of La Marzocco and all the projects and fringe events connected to the theme. There was also a lot of interest in Gastronaut Davide Paolini’s Taste Rings which were very popular as usual, along with the other events scheduled at the Leopolda, and the almost 100 events that brought the city of Florence to life for FuoriDiTaste: all more surprising and creative than ever”.
Total buyer attendance reached 5,300 (+6% compared to one year ago), growing in terms of the number of Italian as well as foreign visitors. The markets which recorded the best results were United States (+10%), Germany (+60%), Japan (+16%), China (multiplying its figures) and Netherlands; leading the top 10 markets was United Kingdom, with +9% registered members of the trade.
In all, this edition of Taste recorded total attendance of 15,800, also thanks to the highly qualified public of food lovers and enthusiasts which numbered around 10,500, over the three days of the fair, in line with the participation figures recorded a year ago.
Once again there were important results for the Taste Shop which – brand new for this edition – was located in the Piazzale Gae Aulenti: in three days it presented 2,180 product types and sold more than 20,200 items.
