TASTE 13: THE BUYERS' POINT OF VIEW

Taste is an excellent event that gets better with every edition. My compliments to Pitti Immagine, which manages to create the right atmosphere every time and shows impeccable organisation. For us it is fundamental to be able to find special gourmet products, unique for their taste and tradition and Taste is full of all this! I noted many interesting specialities such as chocolate, confectionery, pasta and spices! And then the cheese and cured meat are extraordinary, shame about the embargos between Russia and Europe.

With our many eating and sales points, we are a benchmark for Italian cuisine in Singapore and surrounding area. This is why we have to keep our quality standards high, offering products that are unique on the market. This was our first time at Taste, and it proved to be a truly interesting show for our scouting. Small local producers, very high quality products with important backgrounds, unique taste and boutique packaging!

I have never missed a Taste, due to a very precise reason. Here, we find the highest level on the Italian food and wine panorama. This is fundamental for us, above all because we work to bring the image of the Italian product, with its unique taste and genuineness, abroad. I took part in one of the rings as a guest—a very interesting experience. Events of this kind are very useful as part of an event that turns food into a culture.

I was impressed by how this event has evolved; the result is extraordinary. Our core business is olive oil, but we have interest right across the board for all Italian products, very popular in Hungary and abroad in general. Taste is an absolute benchmark event for us buyers. I took part in one of the rings and it was a truly broad-scope opportunity for dialogue with other buyers and exhibitors.

Every time I come to Taste, I discover truly fantastic new products, but I also meet up with suppliers with whom we have solid, long-standing relationships. A good fair with plenty of parallel events like FuoridiTaste and the Ring programme and relative debates.
