Puma Rudolf Dassler Schuhfabrik
A collection that renews the revolutionary spirit of an avant-garde without time.
Amphitheater in the Cascine Park, 20 June 2002
Cubism and Bauhaus, Dadaism and jazz, modernism and avant-garde: the PUMA RUDOLF DASSLER SCHUHFABRIK clothing collection is officially on stage. It is a collection that renews the revolutionary spirit of an avant-garde that has never lost its expressive power.
This debut was made possible thanks to the combined efforts of Tony Bertone (of Puma) and Stefano Martinetto (of FutureNet, selected as the international licensee for 5 years that are renewable). The entire project, distinguished by Italian sartorial production and quality was conceived by Antonio Mastrorocco, design director of FutureNet and the Alcuni Giovani Occidentali advertising agency of Bologna. The men’s collection was designed by an in-house team. The women’s part of the collection is signed by Riccardo Tisci, an outstanding name on the Italian design scene, with an unmistakable style that is already - and justly - on the list of the great new names.
The goal is to achieve a turnover of 20 million euro over the medium term. The collections will be launched in Europe and then in the United States through 200 high-end windows. Before the year is out, the collections will also be on the Asian markets.
The 62nd edition of PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO will mark the christening of the men’s and women’s 2003 Spring/Summer collections. The world debut will take place in the breathtaking setting of the Amphitheater in the Cascine Park, Thursday, 20 June 2002 at 11:00 p.m.
This debut will be followed by a multifaceted performance by the artistes from the Cirque Baroque, in which classic theater and contemporary art will come together to interpret the jazz spirit of Puma Rudolf Dassler Schuhfabrik.
