Music and Italian glomour for a sport-chic event

Stazione Leopolda

The Stazione Leopolda will become the venue for high impact settings that provide the background for a musical show and, naturally, Ermanno Scervino’s sport-chic glamour.

“I decided to present my collection in Florence, at Pitti Uomo – Ermanno Scervino tell us – so that I could realize “Heaven Can Wait”: a sensational event, not a normal everyday fashion show, but rather a spectacle that would involve the public.

I feel the Stazione Leopolda is the venue par excellence for the project I have in mind. Music will be one of the basic components of this highly scenographic layout.”
Deejay Tasty Tim, longtime celebrity of the London club scene, will be at the centre of the show, mixing music live on the catwalk. “There will be well-known tracks from over the years, 80s hits as well as famous arias from the great operas, re-read with an eye to the future: because the classics are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and do not lose their beauty through reinterpretation. On the contrary, they acquire a new beauty”. The set design will consist of two huge super-technological monitors, like they use at rock concerts, screening a continuous succession of images.

“The philosophy that inspires my menswear collections – Scervino continues – is the same behind my creation of the woman: very advanced fashion with much research - also into materials - but at the same time very easy to wear. I will be presenting a sports-minded man who wears sheepskin, jackets, cashmere, but always truly “wearable” garments, because I feel the first thing an item of clothing must do is look good on the wearer. Besides the men’s clothing on stage there’ll also be a number of top models showing the items in a new women’s couture jeans line: precious Japanese denim for creations with high fashion cuts and forms. All told, a show offering a total vision of my style”.
