Special event at Pitti Uomo
In the attractive deconsecrated church of Santo Stefano al Ponte, Tuesday January 11th , Alberta Ferretti officially opened the 79th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo with a special show of 30 dresses created exclusively for the event.
Santo Stefano al Ponte Church is one of the pearl of Florence already known in 1100 A.D. and then renovate in its structure in 1600 and during the Florence baroque times. For many years this church was the Tuscan Auditorium Orchestra headquarter. For the first time in its history, then, this location became an amazing surrounding for fashion.
For this special occasion, Ferretti really wanted to do something unique. She found this opportunity very important, not only to celebrate herself as a designer, but mostly to join her voice with all women’s one in order to create new opportunities for all female universe. This is why the Italian designer decided to link this event to the Jordan River Foundation, an Association chaired by Her Majestic the Queen Rania of Jordan, based on the emancipation and innovation for all women. Alberta Ferretti - well known as a designer of fashion who enhances women not only for their physical appearance - and AEFFE group decided to underline the exclusivity of this occasion with a donation to the Jordan River Foundation. Besides, the cachet of the model and celebrities who participated at the fashion show were donated to the Association.
Thirty special sophisticated, imaginative evening dresses that well represent Alberta Ferretti fashion world were showed by wonderful women on the catwalk. Among them there were celebrities, actresses, top models, socialites and sportive women mostly connected to important humanitarian causes: Camille Belle, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Marisa Berenson, Georgie Henley, Zani Gugelmann, Tamsin Egerton, Talulah Riley, Olivia Inge, Marpessa, Darya Spirovadova, Ines Sastre, Nieves Alvarez, Nathalie Moelhaussen, Eva Riccobono, Nicole Grimaudo, Violante Placido, Sarah Felberbaum, Martina Colombari, Alessia Piovan, Katy Saunders, Matilde Borromeo, Virginia Valsecchi, Chiara Ferragni.
Stars of the runway were also figures committed to women’s culture and its development in present days such as a young researcher of Umberto Veronesi Foundation for the development of the Science, a psychologist, a family law teacher specialized in domestic abuses and the lawyer Anna Galizia Danovi, specialized in Family Law.
Special guest of the event was the singer Elisa who played at the show with a unique medley of songs taken from her last album « Ivy », specifically made for this event in an unplugged version.
