Florence sees the runway debut of men’s fashion by Chiuri and Piccioli
Valentino, men’s guest designer
Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 81
A big return to Florence for male haute couture by Maison Valentino, guest designer at Pitti Uomo 81, showcased in front of an audience with plenty of famous faces.
Frescoed ceilings and ultra-modern LED panels inside Palazzo Corsini set the scene for the A.W. 2012-2013 collection, the Florentine debut by the menswear fashion philosophy of a charismatic brand. Creative direction in the hands of the style duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli followed seamlessly in the footsteps of a great tailoring tradition. Slim-fit tailored suits and clean-cut linear outerwear paraded through the different rooms. A return to basics, but with a modern twist, unfailingly reworked according to the highly elegant vision that makes this fashion house stand out, thanks to its details and accessories, such as the pochette with macho feel construction.
