An exhibition of down jackets of the Italian brand "Save the Duck" revisited for the occasion by a selection of IED Firenze students, a workshop with the historic Tuscan company "The Bridge", a discussion on the new frontiers of journalism and a video mapping devoted to "50 Years Italian beauty", which will illuminate the facade of the historic building of La Rinascente in Florence. These are just some of the many initiatives of "GenderAction", the rich program of events organized by the IED – Istituto Europeo di Design (European Institute of Design) in Florence on the occasion of Pitti Uomo 89.
It starts on January 11th with "50 years of Italian beauty", a special event to celebrate 50 years of Italian beauty with a video mapping on the facade of the historic Florentine boulding of La Rinascente. A project, under the artistic direction of The Fake Factory, within the festival F-light of the city of Florence.
The program continues with the exhibition in collaboration with Save The Duck, a brand of synthetic feather down jackets: a selection of students from IED in Milan, Florence, Rome, Turin and from the Accademia Galli - IED in Como, took part in the project with the reworking of 15 items of the Italian brand, with innovative materials and an eye to ecology and recycling matters. The 5 most innovative down jackest will be displayed at Pitti Uomo, at the Save The Duck booth.
Furthermore, not to miss, the three-day workshop with the famous Tuscan company The Bridge, the meeting "eGiornalismo" on the new frontiers of journalism with Sara Maino (Vogue Talents); Marco Pratellesi (Editor in Chief of L'Espresso website); Simone Marchetti (Fashion Editor of Repubblica.it); Antonio Civita (Archivio Store) and Alessandro Colombo (director of IED Firenze).
Also on 13 January, at 4.30pm, the preview in Florence of the Milan Fashion Film Festival, an international event keeping up with the most interesting International fashion movies.
