For spring/summer 2017, Pringle of Scotland has left the official calendar of London Collection Mens, choosing to present its new collection to the increasingly international audience at Pitti Uomo, with a private event in the heart of Florence on 15 June.
An iconic Scottish luxury knitwear brand that celebrated 200 years in business in 2015, in 2016, Pringle of Scotland appointed Massimo Nicosia from Italy as creative director for the menswear collections.
A graduate in Architecture from the University of Florence, Nicosia completed his course of studies in 2003 in industrial design. In 2004, he started working as a fashion designer with Alessandro Dell’Acqua, dealing with ready-to-wear and accessories. In 2008, he joined Pringle of Scotland as the main menswear designer, working closely with Clare Waight Keller, as head of the menswear collections for A/W 2010/11. After four seasons as head of menswear at Nicole Farhi, Massimo Nicosia rejoined the Pringle of Scotland creative team as Head of Design. Since 2016, he has been the Creative Director for the menswear collections, following the arrival of Fran Stringer in the company in the role of Creative Director for womenswear.
