Japan Fashion Week

Stazione Leopolda

Starting from this edition, Pitti Immagine signs a special collaboration agreement with the Japan Fashion Week Organization. A two-year partnership, which is aimed at offering visibility to some of the most promising talents on the JAPANESE fashion panorama, through the unique stage and setting of Pitti Uomo. Special guest of this edition, Sulvam – the brand founded in 2014 by Teppei Fujita – will debut at Pitti Uomo 91 with a fashion show to be held at the Stazione Leopolda.
“For me, it is a great honor to go on the runway with my collection in Florence, in a place that is unique like that of Pitti Uomo”, says Teppei Fujita, “And I am truly thrilled at the idea of exhibiting here as did my mentor, Yohji Yamamoto”.
Born in 1984, Japan’s Teppei Fujita founded the Sulvam brand in 2014. A graduate of the Bunka Fashion College, backed by a lengthy collaboration with the Yohji Yamamoto maison, Fujita soon earned the approval of international members of the trade, winning the “Tokyo Fashion Award” in 2014, while also coming in among the winners at “Who is on Next? Dubai" in 2015.  He also presented his collections at Paris Fashion Week. His style places high value on the teachings of his mentor, with a style of tailoring reinterpreted in a strongly contemporary key, focusing on extremely high quality fabrics and innovative silhouettes.
