Antica Barbieria Colla is one of the most famous barber’s shops in Milan, situated in the old and picturesque setting of Via Gerolamo Morone. Founded in 1904 by Dino Colla, it has been managed since 1949 by barber and writer Franco Bompieri, and over the course of time it has become one of the most sought-after places to go for hair, beard and moustache treatments, and a favourite haunt of famous personalities from the worlds of politics and culture.
It is this small, precious world from a bygone age, with an early 20th century atmosphere, that Barbieria Colla is bringing to Pitti Uomo 91, where it will give a preview of the exclusive “Antica Barbieria Colla” range of products for the hair and beard. Indeed, the shop uses its own products made in accordance with the old tradition passed down from one owner to the next, and designed following careful study of the requirements of its own clientele.
Nothing is left to chance: the choice of colours, the hand-crafted wrappings, the packaging.
To involve the Pitti Uomo public more fully in its world, Antica Barbieria Colla is giving a demonstration on Tuesday 10 and on Wednesday 11 January, from 12noon to 2.30pm, at his booth inside the Make section, to display its traditional treatments, offering an authentic sensory experience in true Milanese style.
