A seal of quality for young designers
Pitti has always been committed to the promotion of young designers with talent and skill and, in addition to Who is On Next, which is a true competition open to up-and-coming designers held at both Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo, it is now launching a new initiative: Pitti Italics.
“Pitti Italics is not the umpteenth label- explains Francesca Tacconi, Pitti’s special events coordinator- it embodies the attention that Pitti Immagine has always paid to the new generations of Italian fashion designers. Thanks to its many years of experience, Pitti is able to spot young and talented designers, at different levels of fame, image and distribution presence, having an international profile, whether potentially or concretely. Well, we feel honoured to be going on promoting and introducing them to the world”.
Pitti Italics will be inaugurated by Andrea Pompilio and Emiliano Rinaldi, who will be back in Florence after having won the June 2011 Who is On Next / Pitti Uomo Award for prêt-à-porter clothing: a fashion show at Stazione Leopolda on January 9 for Pompilio and another event-performance at Villa Vittoria’s Lemon House on January 10 for Rinaldi.
