MAGLIANO (Luca Magliano) is the winner of the ninth edition of WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO, the scouting project that seeks out new talents in men’s fashions who are Italian or manufacture their collections in Italy, organized by Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery and sponsored by Pitti Immagine Uomo in collaboration with Altaroma and L'Uomo Vogue.

Honorable mentions went to BAD DEAL (Zoow24 and Marina Rubini) and SELFMADE by Gianfranco Villegas.
The judging panel made up of Antonio Cristaudo (Pitti Immagine), Simonetta Gianfelici (Altaroma), Sara Maino (Vogue Italia), Riccardo Vannetti (Pitti Tutorship Director), Chris Vidal (SSAW Magazine), David Wilkinson (Au Pont Rouge Retail) and by partners Beppe Angiolini (Sugar), Luca Giusti (Fashion Valley), Gabriele Baldinotti (Herno), and Alfredo Canducci Pais Ferreira (Tomorrow Ltd) - expressed unanimous satisfaction with the high level of the presentations and for the research content of the finalists’ collections.  In addition to the winner and the honorable mentions, the finalists were: MATTEOLAMANDINI, MILANO140 (Michele Canziani and Stefano Ghidotti) and OMAR (Omar Nardi). 
The Who is On Next? Uomo prize goes to MAGLIANO (Luca Magliano)
A valid proposal and precise stylistic vision with a truly impressive flair.  Luca Magliano has created a clear concept that is complete and minimalist, an “indispensable editing” of the contemporary man’s wardrobe.  Highly appreciated for the quality of the manufacturing as well as the brand’s decisive attitude and character, Magliano has achieved results of an undisputed contemporaneity, a mix of genderless accents and military inspirations with an ironic twist.
Who is On Next? Uomo honorable mention for BAD DEAL (Zoow24 and Marina Rubini)
The jury decided that BAD DEAL was worthy of an honorable mention.  A concept of fashion that is closer to an artistic movement from writer Zoow24 and designer Marina Rubini.  A strongly contemporary project in which street art, underground culture and sportswear meet in a collection with an interesting metro spirit and eclectic inspiration.
Who is On Next? Uomo honorable mention for SELFMADE by Gianfranco Villegas.
The jury decided that the creative project by GIANFRANCO VILLEGAS also deserved an honorable mention.  Pronounced technical expertise and innovation are combined with a skillful reworking of Italian manufacturing tradition thanks to an attentive and broad stylistic research.  A project with an international and sophisticated image, the fruit of great passion and tireless effort. 

The winner, MAGLIANO, will receive the following prizes offered by Pitti Immagine:
Cash reimbursement of expenses, the production of a special presentation event on the occasion of the next edition of Pitti Uomo (Pitti Uomo 93, 9 - 12 January 2018) and a year’s free tutoring provided by PITTI TUTORSHIP.
Moreover, the winner will get press coverage in L’Uomo Vogue and on the Condé Nast websites. 
In addition to the contribution of the sponsors - Pitti Immagine Uomo, L’Uomo Vogue and AltaRoma – the competition also benefits from the support of some prestigious companies operating in the fashion sector. 
The collaboration continues with TOMORROW LIMITED, one of the major international distribution platforms for young fashion talents, which will offer the winner the opportunity to show his collection at their Paris showroom during the sales campaign. 

Then there is the support from FASHION VALLEY, the purpose-created platform developed by MIT -Massachusetts Institute of Technology in cooperation with the Prato Chamber of Commerce, embracing Prato’s fashion firms – from the yarn mills to the weavers to the makers of the finished garments.
