There are occasions when one tries to give one’s very best. Pitti Uomo, the Florentine event dedicated to men’s fashion, now in its 89th edition, is one of them. At least for the most hardened fashionistas, those who think they set the trends and don’t follow them, for the industry insiders that simulate detachment, but then... For four days, the Fortezza da Basso, now the historic headquarters of the event, is crawling with exhibitors, designers, journalists, buyers and industry insiders (with various roles), all or almost all of them making an attempt, more or less well-disguised, to hide their vanity, nonchalantly showing off outfits painstakingly planned out over months and months of strenuous studies.
