“While work continues with excellent results on the Connect digital platform” says Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, “which will remain online with the winter collections and special events, until the first week of April, we are opening registrations for the next summer cycle by sending out the invitations to our exhibitors in order to give companies some clear reference points for scheduling their activities, in the full awareness that, between now and the summer, we will all have to carefully follow the evolution of the health situation. We will act promptly whatever the circumstances”.

“We have decided to reduce Pitti Uomo from four to three days” continues Agostino Poletto, General Manager of Pitti Immagine, “in order to accommodate the requests for the maximum concentration and savings in terms of expenses that we have received from exhibitors. With regard to Filati, we can confirm the venue of the Stazione Leopolda which was already envisaged for the February edition that was subsequently canceled because, along with the yarn manufacturers, we believe it to be very suitable for a layout devised, in functional and esthetic terms, for an objectively extraordinary phase. The organizational and safety plan for the Fortezza da Basso, as well as the other venues, has been prepared – it was actually already sorted – and we are coordinating with all the institutional subjects (City Council, Regional administration, Ministries) and private entities (carriers, airports, stations, hotels etc.) involved in the overall fair activities. The entire summer cycle will be characterized by a strong integration between the physical and digital format, in an attempt to take advantage of all the opportunities of amplitude and depth of the service they offer”.

“Finally,” concludes Poletto “a note about Taste: on the basis of the recently Decree issued by the Italian Government, we have canceled the April scheduled dates (10-12 April) and have decided to move the fair at the end of June, a time that fits into the sequence of our other shows, and confirming as a location the Fortezza da Basso, the dimension of which allows an effective organization of the spaces according to the distancing requirements. We are more than determined to hold the fair with the quality and liveliness of all time, the many and convinced adhesions we have gathered so far tell us that the direction is the right one."
