Feel the yarn is a really rewarding experience for our students, they are deeply inspired by the creativity of Italian spinning and yarn factories. They also get a comprehensive understanding of the industry. Students from the most famous fashion design schools over the world get together having an opportunity to talk about their different native culture, life and study style and so on. I am sure that will take them a lot of inspiration.

The Santa Marcelina College needs get and transmit knowledge to our students in this market. The technical knowledge of our students in this area is median. We still have difficulties because we don’t have modern machinery. The Italian spinners are the best in the world. It’s a honor to us have contact by our students because they brought all their experience, knowledge and everything that they have learned to the College.

It is a great opportunity for the students to make contact with different spinning and weaving mills, to be introduced to the designing of different qualities of yarn and fabric and to participate in the whole supply chain from fibres to finished outfits. I appreciate the high standard of yarn qualities produced in Italy. One can rely on these values, which guarantee high quality and good collaboration.

The cooperation agreements the School has with universities in the United States, China, Turkey and in many European countries bear witness to the high standing that it enjoys.

Ellen Bendt, Professor from Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences

For the students the contest is a great opportunity to show their creativity and talent to an international audience. They want to improve their knowhow and I am sure, the contest will create a deeper understanding for the importance of yarn type, quality etc. for a successful design. The creativity and quality of all parts of the fashion business have suffered under the global fast fashion trends and the fundamental economic challenges. Despite this fact I myself think that the Italian spinners are still the most innovative and creative yarn suppliers for the fashion market.
