LOTS OF GOOD REASONS FOR DRESSING AND BUYING VINTAGE.
VINTAGE SELECTION N.14: AT THE STAZIONE LEOPOLDA IN FLORENCE, FROM 7TH – 11TH JULY 

1)   Rummage around for vintage items in lofts, cellars and old closets.  This is the future of the past.

8) A vintage garment has a thousand lives: each wearer gives it another life. 

Vintage Selection N. 14, the vintage clothing, accessories and designer objects fair, will be held at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence from Tuesday 7th to Saturday 11th July 2009 concomitantly with Pitti Immagine Filati 65. 

“Today, more than ever, Vintage Selection is the center of attention”, says Agostino Poletto, sole director of Stazione Leopolda Srl.  “In fact, the changes in the economic climate and on the international fashion scene have led to new attitudes in terms of style and consumption and a new idea of luxury which fashion companies and designers have to take into account.  So we have dedicated this edition to all the good reasons for embracing this reality in terms of fashion product consumption as well as input on trends.   And, with a slight amount of irony, we have drawn up a Vintage manifesto”.

A research laboratory studying the fashions of the past, Vintage Selection is an archive launching ideas for the collections of today.  The event is followed by a huge public of collectors and enthusiasts and has become an unmissable rendezvous for cool hunters and the style bureaus of the top international fashion companies who come to Florence to find inspiration for their creative research.  

Vintage Selection showcases over 30 exhibitors for a public of followers and members of the trade which, at the last edition, totaled 11,000.

THE REMAKE SECTION 
Remake is the special section devoted to the collections of firms making customized vintage: ADEART, CAIRA DESIGN UNIQUE, FEDERICA SIBONI, LAVGON LAVORI IN TESSUTO, MAIKO UNIQUE! will be presenting clothes subjected to innovative treatments or transformed through tailoring that are available for purchase by buyers and visitors.

Plus:
Music will accompany the visitors as they move through the various stands: a selection of tracks from RDF 102.7 - the event’s partner radio station -  will provide a musical backdrop for the duration of the fair. 

In the lounge area, the event’s bar/restaurant will be run by Galateo Ricevimenti.
