Chic and Unchic
Chic & Unchic Pitti Edition
The best (and worst) of men’s style in Florence, where buyers, journalists, insiders and simple curious visitors take their positions in front of the lens of photographers chasing streetstyle shots.
Here are the best- and worst-dressed of this edition of the event.
Curated by Federico Rocca. Ph. Enrico Labriola.
Day 1Back to top
They call them “Pitti People”. Men from 18 to 80 (and beyond, why not?) who share a passion for fashion and experimenting with a glamorous style that is often eccentric, always sought-after, sometimes over the top.
It is easy to recognise them in the large central courtyard at the Fortezza da Basso, where the Florentine event dedicated to men’s fashion is usually held, as was the case for this 87th edition. Like peacocks fanning out their tails they pose – feigning nonchalance – in front of the many lenses of the streetstyle photographers, who immortalise their painstakingly planned outfits. So coordinated and precise that they may well have taken weeks to put together.
Confirmation, yet again – if any were needed – that men are certainly no less vain than women. Let’s see if they’re also touchy, though. How will they react to our judgements? The “chic” will definitely be fine about it. But the “unchic”?!
