The New Fashion Container is a project conceived and curated by Linda Loppa, which presents itself as a platform for connecting all the creative industries involved in fashion through digital technology on a global level. Triggering this collaborative practice is the concept of the “container”, an imaginary room where there is a blending of the continuous and massive flow of information, news and research that characterize fashion production. There are eleven containers present in The New Fashion Container, with a modular and rhizomatic structure that reflects a constantly changing universe, where it is increasingly necessary to adopt a flexible and fluid approach. A project that is born from the need to rediscover the values guiding fashion, its identity and the creative talents belonging to it, which became urgent with the outbreak of the pandemic and the social, cultural, and economic distortions that shook the entire world. “Contemporary art has its home, contemporary fashion is homeless.” In the context of Pitti Uomo 100, Wednesday 30 th of June at 2.00pm in the Unicredit Theatre, Linda Loppa presents The note-book, the condensation on paper of this visionary project, which extends the invitation to network and connect with one another, so fashion is once again given a home and tangible community. The note-book is a collection of notes and an empty container at the same time, which is developed in three parts corresponding to the three phases of the project. It begins from the Manifesto, the declaration of intents and vision, and from the Masterplan, the organizational structure, with the board, methodology, containers and cities. The second chapter includes eleven guidelines for the fashion system, trends that touch the original soul of the self, its sensuality, and its potential connectivity. The third and final chapter is Icebreakers: eleven conversations between eleven couples of designers, writers, critics, and curators coming from around the globe, who have the same common desire to make a break with the past and create a joint project. Through a register that combines with ease principles, flows of consciousness and poetry, The note-book is the end of a journey inspired by intuition that exists in the connection between people, the key to living in the present and laying the groundwork for the future of fashion.
