Born in Rome in 1975 where she still lives and works, Camilla Fasini completed classical studies before obtaining a diploma in illustration from Rome’s IED. Both an illustrator and artist, her style is characterized by clean lines, stylized minimalist forms and strong colours. Fasini first worked as an illustrator for several agencies, publishers, dailies and magazines. As an artist, she has been commissioned by businesses and public bodies such as NIKE, Eni, the Rome City Authorities, RCS, Pitti Immagine Uomo, PFIZER, and Anas to create one-off works like large paintings, murals and sculpture. Her first book entirely conceived, written and illustrated by her – 100 Chevaliers  - was published in France by Amaterra in June 2016. In the same year, Fasini was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Fasini’s work has shown at numerous collective and solo exhibitions: Galleria Mirada and Grauen Gallery, in 2015; Street Level Gallery, Florence, March 2017.
She has also been part of street art festivals such as Subsidenze, Pop-up, ArtConventional, FRA, Arteinattesa, Pittura Viva, Influazioni, Local Art Walls, Premio Antonio Giordano, Stelvio Fest, LINK Urban Art Festival, the project developed by MURo (Museo Urban di Roma), and helped painted a huge wall for the GRAArt project organized by MURo and Anas.
She has also completed murals in several interiors: the Madama Hostel in Milan, the Necos Italia production studios in Rome, the Tipì family bar also in Rome, and for several other associations, schools and recreation centres.
Her work has also appeared in Pictoplasma, Juxtapoz Latina America and other books and Magazines.

Born in 1980 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Candela Ferdmann moved to Buenos Aires at 18 to study Fine Arts. Some years into her career, she began studying illustration and realized this was the medium she loved and felt at home in. Ferdmann has shown her work in Italy, Japan, China, United States, Ukraine, and Argentina. She was selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair’s Illustrators Exhibition in 2014 and 2017. In 2014, she also was selected for the Iberoamérica Ilustra Catalogue. Her book Bombo was published by the Chinese Publishing House Tian’an. As well as children’s book, Ferdmann loves dancing, swimming, the spring and travel.

Born in Liguria, Italy, in 1981, Elena Maricone moved to Milan to study Visual Arts at IED, a course that culminated in the performance Peggy & Beyond at the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation in Venice. After graduating, she worked as an illustrator for the creation of book covers, magazine articles and animation videos for major broadcasters. Over the years, Maricone has developed a clean graphic style and a preference for printing techniques and traditional manual tools. Her work led to La Drogheria, a project melding illustration, craftsmanship and design based on traditional techniques.

Maricone has been selected for a series of events and competitions: the 2017 Bologna Children's Book Fair’s Illustrators Exhibition, Le immagini della fantasia exhibition in Sàrmede, and the exhibition Le metamorfosi del viaggiatore in Milan. She currently she lives near Monza where she pursues her interest in illustration, research and design.

Author-illustrator Emmanuelle Bastien is born in 1974 in France. She considers engraving a narrative tool, books a realm for experimentation, and play a working method. Founder of Qu’est-ce que tu fabriques? (supports for children to invent stories), she also holds workshops, which fuel her research and artistic production.


Born in Milan in 1982, illustrator and graphic artist Stella Gaia lives and works in her hometown. After graduating in Illustration from Milan’s IED, she designed and illustrated several picturebooks for Italian and foreign publishers such as Mondadori, Feltrinelli, Einaudi, Salani, Topipittori, The Boston Globe, La Joie de Lire, and Hélium. Her works were chosen for the international biennial of Illustration Illustrarte in 2014, and for the 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair’s Illustrators Exhibition. Gaia has published numerous titles over the past few years. These include:

Born in 1978 in Hungary, Mariann Máray graduated from Moholy-Nagy University of Applied Arts, receiving a degree in visual communication. She also studied Italian language and literature at Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest. She works as a children’s book illustrator and manages her own children’s goods brand, Pikku Dot .


From 2009 she published many titles among which, in the last years: Állatok ábécéje, Scolar; The Abc Zoo, Scolar; Knights and Castles Activity Book, The Salariya Book Company; Ez nem az apu hangja! From 2004, Mariann also won many awards and her artwork participated in many exhibitions among which the 2017 Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava.

Born in Montpellier, France, in 1986, Marie Mignot obtained a diploma in Illustration from Strasbourg’s École Superieure des Arts décoratifs in 2013. Her work has been shown in several exhibitions. Her first illustrated book, Pic de la Mirandole et l'ange jaloux, written by Hélène Mallard, was published by Les petits Platons in 2016.
Mignot was selected for the 2014 illustration biennial Illustrarte and for the Illustrators Exhibition at the 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Born in Japan in 1975, Mayumi Oono studied illustration for the fashion sector at the Setsu Mode Seminar Art School. After a solo exhibition brought her to the attention of magazines in the illustration world, she produced a variety of work in different sectors: advertising magazines, greeting cards and textiles. Her creations lift the viewer’s spirits, their colour combinations and unique forms instilling a “sense of happiness”. 


Born in Sèvres, France, in 1994, Paul Toussaint studied graphic design but subsequently gravitated to illustration as a natural choice. The following year when studying in Paris, he met acclaimed illustrators like Olivier Barroux, Laurent Corvaisier and Ghislaine. Currently, Toussaint lives between Paris, Brittany and Brussels where he is studying illustration. Influenced by mural painting and scenes from everyday life, Toussaint describes his work as a continuous graphic experiment impacted by technical developments and the artistic practices he adopts.

Born in Ibiza in 1980, Violeta Lopiz is mainly a picturebook illustrator. She has published with Kalandraka, Anaya, Edelvives, Siruela, Oxford University Press, Enchanted Lyon, Bruaá Edição, Editions du Rouergue, Editions Didier, Hélium, Cambourakis, Topipittori, and Planta Editora. Her illustrations were awarded the 2016 Grand Prix at the Illustrarte biennial, and the 2011 Korea CJ Award. Her work was also selected for the Montreuil Salon du livre and some 5 times for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Children Book Fair. Lopiz has participated in numerous exhibitions in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Israel, Turkey, USA, Japan, and Korea. Her illustrations for Les poings sur les îles were animated by Lu Bing for the CJ Picturebook Animation Festival. She also collaborates with the newspaper El Mundo, El Expresso de Portugal, and the Revista magazine, illustrates clothes, interiors, murals, lamps, book covers, CD covers and Apps. She enjoys giving intensive illustration and creativity workshops for adults. Although her studio is in Berlin, Lopiz travels constantly, very often producing work while in residence or in collaboration with others.
