Polimoda: BREAKING BOUNDARIES!
Surpassing the limits between education and work, tearing down the barriers between design and business, bridging the gaps between creative inspiration and the market. This is Polimoda’s mission for 2016 and the uniting thread of Polimoda Fashion Week, from the 14th – 16th June on the occasion of Pitti Uomo 90. The calendar of varied events has one common goal: to put the emerging fashion talent of the future in contact with professionals today. From the Fashion Show featuring this year’s best design students, to the ‘professional speed dating’ between graduates and companies and the new Talent Development project, Polimoda Fashion Week gives the opportunity to connect creativity and market realities, break boundaries, and create a new vision for fashion.
Polimoda Fashion Week will begin celebrations for the 30th Anniversary of the Institute, which was founded in Florence in 1986 and is today certified as one of the top ten fashion centres in the world. For this occasion, Polimoda’s 2016 Fashion Show will take place for the first time at the Palazzo Strozzi, a poignant setting in the heart of the city. The event will also serve to symbolically inaugurate the new era of direction under Danilo Venturi, who has lead Polimoda as Dean since January 2016 together with President Ferruccio Ferragamo and the strategic consulting of Linda Loppa. Together they continue the tradition of strong leadership for the school, providing solutions capable of immediately responding to market needs and contemporary society through a complete and across-the-board education focused on individual talent. With this vision, the new Talent Development project has been created. This program consist of: the start-up incubator YourselFashion dedicated to Polimoda alumni with ground-breaking ideas, and secondly, the launch of a new Masters Course in Fashion Enterprise tailored to young design entrepreneurs with innovative projects ready to develop.
