Pitti Uomo (Florence, 12-15 June 2018), will once again be shining the spotlights on Japan’s most interesting names in cutting-edge fashions. Designer Shinpei Yamagishi founded BED j.w. FORD in 2010 and the label quickly became famous for its innovative menswear concept that mixes the sartorial, with unconventional design and layering. Now, at Pitti Uomo n.94, he will be presenting his first-ever overseas runway show on Thursday, the 14th of June 2018.
Shinpei Yamagishi – who has a nontraditional academic background, being self-taught and having acquired his experience in the field - won the prestigious Tokyo Fashion Award in October 2016, and since then he has been showing his collections during the men’s fashion weeks in Paris and Tokyo. His label, BED j.w. FORD, is inspired by the beauties and fragilities of what we can call “commonplace”, reflecting his way of relating to the transitory essence of spaces, sounds and objects. His style is influenced by the street, but turns away from categorization; it is built on carefully balanced concepts of formal and casual, masculine and feminine, rough and impalpable – all filtered through his unique vision.

During Pitti Uomo 94, the BED j.w. FORD S/S 2019 fashion show will also be the stage for a preview of the special project the brand created for adidas Originals.
