Bruce Pask, Men’s Fashion Director, Bergdorf & Goodman, New York:
An abundant range of collections, from outerwear to knitwear and accessories: it’s been a really great edition! I very much appreciated Touch! with its assortment of brands and new discoveries. I also selected brands at Make and Futuro Maschile and believe that Scandinavian Manifesto is a fantastic idea. The latest arrival, I GO OUT, has been excellently planned. Pitti Uomo always satisfies me, from the layout to the content and the organization. I have been coming here for over two decades and I recognize the fair’s inestimable value.

Aliyah Shi, Assistant buying and merchandising manager, 10 Corso Como, Shanghai:
Pitti Uomo is one of the most important fairs in the world, where you can see the best collections but also enjoy a brilliant atmosphere, full of special events. For us it is the starting point of 2019: it is essential to be here to gather information and understand the direction of the market. In our store we had 80% full price revenue increase vs last year for men: alongside the DNA brands we have a large section dedicated to emerging designers and Pitti Uomo is the ideal platform to discover them. Among the areas that I appreciated the most, Scandinavian Manifesto, Unconventional, I Go Out and Tokyo Fashion Award. The Slam Jam exhibition and Y/Project shows were magnificent!

Stavros Karelis, Founder and Creative Director, Machine-A, London:
A perfect combination of heritage and innovation. A truly interesting line-up of guest designers: names like Y/Project demonstrate a high level of research and a constant attention to the new players in menswear. The Y/Project fashion show left me speechless. A celebration of the talent of Glenn Martens and the brand’s strong identity obtained through a single approach to the silhouette. At Pitti Uomo I appreciated the tradition of the big brands present in the Main Pavilion and the innovation of the names in Touch! and Futuro Maschile.

Beppe Angiolini, proprietor of Sugar and Honorary President of the Camera Italiana Buyer Moda:
Pitti Uomo is always evolving and the theme The Pitti Box is a good example of this. An ensemble of several factors and projects like the I Go Out section make it an unmissable rendezvous for meeting people as well as learning about and capturing new ideas. In a period when characterization is increasingly important, Pitti offers an essential key for building personal concepts. An across-the-board fair with a strong basis of craftsmanship and “made in Italy” that stands out at a time when the classic-contemporary segment is well perceived on a global level. Excellent organization.

Marcus Söderlind, CEO, Nitty Gritty, Stockholm:
Pitti Uomo improves at every edition! It represents the start of the season and for us buyers it is an unmissable rendezvous. I like to visit every section, from the Main Pavilion, where the big, classic brands exhibit, to the more contemporary sections like Touch! and Futuro Maschile to I Go Out, my favorite, with its inspiration-rich layout. The program of events is always very interesting and the Pitti Club is an excellent place for buyers to meet and exchange ideas. Impeccable organization.

George Li, Merchandise Buying and Retail Management Assistant Buyer, SKP Beijing:
I always stay for the entire duration of the fair because I want to have enough time to visit it. The Main Pavilion is extraordinary with its menswear offering next to the Arena Strozzi, part of Futuro Maschile and its contemporary and cool soul. I really liked the brand mix of I Go Out, where I saw a lot of technical innovation, one of the season’s strongest trends. Pitti Uomo is a fair that is extremely attentive to research, it always manages to capture the trends of tomorrow and the choice of the Guest Designers is also evidence of this. Slam Jam is a very popular name in streetwear and I have been following its Y/Project with interest for many seasons.

Boris Kotelsky, Menswear Head Buyer, Mercury, Moscow:
Pitti Uomo is the most important fair in the world for menswear. I like its positive approach and the very inspirational mood. We are interested in the big brands in the Main Pavilion for our stores but I always take advantage of my time at the fair to visit all the sections. It is essential for us buyers to keep up-to-date, to understand what is happening in every sphere of men’s fashion and Pitti Uomo represents an excellent opportunity to do this. I really liked the Arena Strozzi where I found many interesting Japanese brands and the truly innovative The Pitti Box theme! The Guest Designer events at this edition were splendid.

Keishi Endo, Board Member, Chief Operating Officer, Beams, Tokyo:
Pitti Uomo is an essential rendezvous. In our 43 years of business we have always participated with great pleasure in order to discover the new trends and to keep up-to-date on everything that is happening in the world of menswear. Excellent organization.
