This morning, Wednesday, April 15th, at the premises of the Museo del Tessuto in Prato, the Board of Directors of the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana (CFMI), chaired by Antonella Mansi, was held, followed by the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of Pitti Immagine (Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and Confindustria Moda), to deliberate on the increase in the number of members of the company’s Board of Directors, followed by the Ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting, both chaired by Antonio De Matteis.
Following the indication of the CFMI Board of Directors, the Shareholders’ Meeting proceeded with the appointments of the Board of Directors of Pitti Immagine for the mandate
2026–2028:
Antonio De Matteis was confirmed President and Antonella Mansi was confirmed Vice President. In addition to them, the following were confirmed on the Board: Giovanni Basagni, Stefano Borsini, Ercole Botto Poala, Marco Landi, Niccolò Moschini, Raffaello Napoleone, Lorenzo Nencini and Marco Palmieri.
Three new directors were then appointed: Paolo Carrai (Chief Executive Officer Via del Tè); Ivano Cauli (General Director Pitti Immagine), Laura Bosetti Tonatto (Owner Essenzialmente Laura).
The Board of Statutory Auditors was also confirmed and is composed as follows: Massimo Bianchi (Chairman), Deborah Sassorossi and Guido Ceron. Alternate auditors: Giuseppe Cristiani and Roberto Vanni.
President Mansi and the Shareholders’ Meeting warmly thanked the outgoing director Niccolò Ricci for the competent and generous work carried out in these six years of mandate in the interest of Italian fashion, the Pitti Immagine fairs and the city and regional economy. Together with the thanks, a warm wish was also addressed to him for his new mandate as President of Polimoda, of which CFMI is among the founding members.
“The renewal of the Pitti Immagine Board this year expresses a fundamental step in the process of reorganization and innovation,” states Antonella Mansi, President of CFMI, “which was desired and shared, and on which work has been carried out together with the shareholders, the directors and the internal structure over the course of the last two mandates. Pitti Immagine represents a fundamental resource for the territory and for the productive sectors and it is for this reason that the guiding star of the work of these years and of the coming ones has been and will be the strengthening of its capacity to renew itself and to effectively support the promotion of our companies on international markets – at an extremely critical moment for the global economy.”
From the CFMI Board of Directors emerged the main lines of direction to which Pitti Immagine will refer in the next three-year period, which still presents itself as difficult to interpret due to the various and complex theaters of geopolitical and energy crisis, as well as war, in the world: from the development of organizational models coherent with the evolution of trade fair services to the maintenance of careful control of overall costs, from the search for specific competences for innovative activities linked to new technologies to the careful scrutiny of possible opportunities for expansion of the product portfolio.
“President De Matteis, together with the renewed Board in substantial continuity,” continues Antonella Mansi, “will be a further guarantee of commitment of Italian industry in the mandate conferred by the shareholders. Although the focus on the fashion sector remains predominant, also thanks to the solid and constructive relationship with Confindustria Moda, which has reaffirmed full confidence in the Pitti fairs, it was considered appropriate to broaden the scope of entrepreneurial contribution with the inclusion on the Board of high profiles belonging to the world of food and fragrances, in coherence with the diversification of the trade fair activities, all oriented to the universe of lifestyle. And in this regard I wish to thank Paolo Carrai and Laura Tonatto for the enthusiasm with which they welcomed our proposal. My thanks go to all the CFMI Shareholders, who have never failed to provide their full support. And finally, a thank you and an embrace to my friend Fabia Romagnoli, President of the Fondazione Museo del Tessuto di Prato (and also President of Confindustria Toscana Nord) who gave us the opportunity today to also make a special visit to the beautiful exhibition dedicated to Alaïa and Balenciaga.”
